Depends on the mood, I can go from Enya type stuff to classic rock to heavy metal to that "trip hop" to rock rap to rap...and then back it just depends.

I generally listen to alternative rock, hard rock, metal, alternative metal, nu-metal, and a limited amount of punk.

If I had to choose my favorite two bands at the moment, I'd choose Cold and Chimaira.

That Enya stuff trips me out. It is somewhat soothing, but it gives me chills for some odd reason.

Oh and I have kind of recently been into techno and other rave type music.

Well, I particularly like Chimaira, and yes, there isn't too much "singing" in their songs. I could list off a bunch of other bands I like, but I'm sure nobody has heard of 90% of them. Come to think of it, I'm sure hardly anybody has heard of Chimaira.

I do like music that I consider alternative, like TRUSTcompany, Guano Apes, Mad At Gravity, Key To Arson, etc., so my tastes aren't at all limited to the metal genre's. However, you could say that my tastes are fairly constrained to rock and metal.

Pretty much anything goes... depending on my mood and mindset. For example, when I hit the weights, I crank up something like Slayer, Mudvayne or Pantera, and when I just feel like chilling out anything from Enya-type ballads and Gregorian Chanting does the trick...

I also listen to alternative rock, feel good rock (Third Eye Blind etc, which I suppose could be categorized as alt rock), some rap, RnB and hip hop (not that many good rappers out there nowadays, but a few remain), and last but not least, I looove funk! Especially slapfunk and groove, cause I'm a bass playin slap-funkin man myself! ;)

My all-time favorite band is the Red Hot Chili Peppers, though.

A better question would be what kind of music do I NOT listen to. I'll usually listen to any type of music except rap and country. I'm really into alternative rock, nu-metal, and acoustic jam bands. Some of my favorites include Cold, Breaking Benjamin, Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, and Incubus...among countless, countless others.

Hmmm... I think I`ll grab some mp3`s.... I`m really curious
If you want to hear some romanian hip-hop, search the internet [don`t know if you`ll find it on Kazaa] for the following:
Verita Saga [these guys are the best I`ve ever heard both romanian and american]
C.T.C.
Raku
K-gula
R.A.C.L.A.
K.S.T. -276

These are the best I think... from the underground because gangsta rap really sucks like in any country lately... I mean look at 50Cent.. This guy should be shot, not 2Pac.

Well, 'foreigners" have better taste in American hip-hop than Americans have. I've known that for years. I mostly listen to the US underground, mostly NY based stuff, but some west coast like aceyalone and living legends. I cant really get with that mid-west emo-rap or the fake gangsta stuff that is popular in the mainstream.

I listen to a lot of stuff. I don't like rap or hip-hop much, although the Beastie Boys are cool. Mainly I like 80's pop/punk like Blondie, the Cure, etc. and 70's rock like Credence, Zeppelin, Steve Miller, etc. I also like early 90's grunge-rock like Nirvana, Stone temple Pilots, etc. I also like old country/western (70's-80's mainly); I can't stand this new pop-country crap. I do like Allen Jackson.

I also like Concrete Blonde from the late 80's/early 90's, anybody else like them?

Almost forgot late 80's hair bands like Poison, Ratt, Motley Crue, G-n-R, Van Halen.

Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm getting old.

Shafty
01-15-04, 09:23 AM
Speaking of 80's rock, at least one tune comes to mind that totally rules! David Lee Roth's Yankee Rose, which is on the GTA Vice City radio is by far the best rock song I've ever heard! I'm generally not that enthusiastic about 80's music, though, with the exeption of 80's funk.

I can listen to just about anything, and when I say anything I mean it. I don't care who sings it or writes it, if it sounds good then it's good.

My favorite band personally and I really haven't had favorite bands in the past is Sevendust. I guess they fall in that "nu-metal" category because they put an emphasis on vocals, but they aren't very mainstream at all. They are great...atleast I think.

2pac was good, biggie was good too didn't really like him as much though. Bone thugs in harmony I liked. Haven't really listend to much after, I will pass on the air force ones.rofl

Heck I can even listen to the backstreet boys.rofl I have a few of their songs, good stuff.:P

Personally, I think they were 2 of the most Slept On this year. Deliverance was underrated. And Cheers had a lot of solid tracks. Especially considering I dont listen to much mainstream.

Remedy - Never Again (http://www.nextwave.hu/hiphop/remedy_never%20again.mp3)

{*man praying in Hebrew during intro*}

[Intro: Remedy]
Feel this,
To all those races, colors, and creeds,
every man bleeds
for the countless victims and all their families
of the murdered, tortured and slaved,
raped, robbed and persecuted
Never Again,
To the men, women, and children.
Who died in their struggle to live,
never to be forgotten.

Reuven Ben Menachum, yo..
Yo my own blood, dragged through the mud
Perished in my heart still cherished and loved
Stripped of our pride, everything we lived for
Families cried, there's no where to run to, no where to hide
Tossed to the side, access denied
6 million died for what?!
Yo a man shot dead in his back
Helpless women and children under constant attack
For no reason, till the next season, and we still bleeding
Yo it's freezing, And men burn in hell, some for squeezing
No hope for a remedy, nothing to believe
Moving targets who walk with the star in their sleeve
Forever marked wit a number, tattooed to your body
Late night, eyes closed, clutched to my shotty
Having visions, flashes of death camps and prisons, no provisions
Deceived by the devils decisions, forced into a slave
Death before dishonour for those men who were brave
Shot and sent to their grave, can't awaken, it's too late
Everything's been taken, I'm shaken, family, history, the making

Never again shall we march like sheep to the slaughter
Never again shall we sit and take orders
Stripped of our culture, robbed of our name
Raped of our freedom and thrown into the flames
Forced from our families, taken from our homes
Moved from our God then burned of our bones
Never again, never again, shall we march like sheep to the slaughter
Leave our sons and daughters, stripped of our culture
Robbed of our name
Raped of our freedom and thrown into the flames
Forced from our families, taken from our homes
Moved from our God and everything we own

Some fled through the rumors of wars
But most left were dead, few escaped to the shores
With just one loaf of bread, banished, hold in for questioning
And vanished, Never to be seen again,
I can't express the pain
That was felt in the train to Auschwitz,
tears poured down like rain
Naked face to face, with the master race, Hatred blood and David
My heart belongs to God and stay sacred
Rabbi's and priests, Disabled individuals
The poor, the scholars all labeled common criminals
Mass extermination, total annihilation
Shipped into the ghetto and prepared for liquidation
Tortured and starved, innocent experiments
Stripped down and carved up or gassed to death
The last hour, I smelled the flowers
Flashbacks of family then sent to the showers
Powerless undressed, women with babies clumped tight to their chest
Crying, who would've guessed -- dying, another life lost
Count the cost, another body gas burned and tossed in the holocaust

[Chorus]

Never Again, Never Again
The final solution is now retribution
Remedy, Wu-Tang..

No, no drum machine in Origin, just Jon and his triggers (unless you count triggers as drum machines, which I don't. He still has to play friggin FAST. What a great show he puts on live!).

Don't like Cryptopsy? THEN YOU SUCK..... J/K. :) I hear they're planning a U.S. tour with Cannibal Corpse this spring.... too bad you live in the U.K.

I can appreciate some of Richie's and Colins' music, but I don't have any of their CDs. I was never really into soft rock that much.
