View Full Version : Headaches Anyone? Possibly due to Argin-Max.

Lately, I've been taking 6 pills (3 grams) of L-Arginine via ArginMax, a supplement from GNC. This supplement has a few other vitamins and minerals, including zinc, which I already have in a calcium/mag/zinc pill I take.

I have been experiencing frequent headaches, which only seem to subside after I eat, and seem to be centered on my left side of the head, but deep. Suppose you take an ice pick, and go up (~10 degrees off from horizontal) between the left eye and nose, that's about here it hurts.

I think it possibly could be due to ArginMax, and I'm wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this. I take ginkco biloba as well -- another "vessel opening" supplement, and these could be reacting, or maybe too much zinc, not sure. I changed my contact prescription about 3 months ago, and just now have been getting these headaches for 2-3 weeks usually when my glasses are on. I also have been working nights, and not getting much sleep to get to class in the morning. (One of the reasons why I take the Argin Max in the first place)

I've been trying to figure out what might be causing the headaches, but they seem to occur at any time, with any amount of rest I get -- from 5 hours sleep to 12 hours sleep. They do sometimes come with my contacts on, so really other than stopping ArginMax, I haven't seen an end to them (and I'm not sure how quickly it's eliminated from the system).

Any Ideas guys?

I have a feeling it is your contacts. Bro.
The arginine should actually lower your BP. True... it expands the blood vessels (well...relaxes them)... so... it can make you appear flush at times or make you feel warm... but it should not be giving you headaches.
My guess is the contacts.
Careful with the zinc bud. You really don't need very much and the stuff builds up.

Also... make sure you are drinking a ton of water with aringine. At least 1 liter at a min.
