Guys I just built a Wench and it is working well so far. My only problem is that besides a few dumbbells laying around the house I don't have any real weights.

Where did you guys buy your weights? I know that they sell them all over the place but where are the cheapest? Also what weight increments do you guys recommend buying for a guy new to hanging?

Thanks

I say get any ya can - metal or plastic ones it dunt matter.
Get about 30lbs altogether.
start at 5lbs and work up.
Just look around catalogue stores to find some cheap ones...their not dear at all.
You may only need about 10lbs to start with?

Red's right Palo. I got some cheap plates at Walmart. I bought 3ea - 5 lbs and 2ea - 2.5 lbs to start. I think they were only a few bucks each. It is a lot easier than hanging stuff found around the boat, or filling jugs with water!

I got mine at Wal-mart as well. I bought a 2.5 lb, two 5 lb, two 10 lb plates. That will probably be all the weights I'll need too. With that selection you can hang at 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, 20, 22.5, 25, 27.5, 30, 32.5 lbs.

Does Walmart have the round plates or those square/hexagonal ones? Sand filled or cast?

Thanks guys. I'll invade Walmart.

Supra...hahaha....I was thinking about that....just grabbing a few weights the next time I'm in the unversity gym and rolling out with em...but I decided its better to just buy a few because apparently they're cheap and I wouldn't want to get banned from my gym...its the best in town...and the girlies are cute as can be :)

damn you both! if i ever catch you stealing the weights at my gym..! heh
nah just go to a fitness store, get one 1 pound, two 2 pounds, one 5 pound, one 10 pound and one 20 pound and that will give you any weight up to 40 pounds in 1 pound increments...

OK - I already own a couple of 1,25 kg and 2,5 kg - mine are black though and also from Kettler.

Is it possible to hang more than 1 weight from the BIB starter/Hanger ?

They both can hang just as much.
