ADD has plagued my life. I try to be positive about it and find ways to cope, however I always lose focus and never finish my task at hand no matter how interesting it is. What can i do? I want to stay away from prescription medication.

I suffer from it too. The easiest way for me is to think of it like a battle, and reward yourself when you get something fully done.

In terms of PE this might be a full day's sessions. I break my day down into various objectives which I keep a chart of whether I have met them or not. This then inspires me to keep at it and remain focused, even though I'd prefer to flit to other things, I do it because I know its necessary to succeed with PE.

That doesn't mean I don't fail sometimes. What's important for me, and possibly for you, is that I don't focus on the negative but instead, focus on attaining future positive.

I finally got the energy up to go to the doctor and get diagnosed.

Aderol is my friend.

I find that with my ADD, the things I want to do get done. I can usually only focus on one task at a time. I've lost jobs because of it. I've felt like a complete loser because of it.

I dunno. It's hard.

I have meds now, but I do not like to take them all the time. I lie to my doctor so he won't cut me off on the aderol. I will do a week on the meds and a week off. I sort of hate being on drugs believe it or not. The meds make me tired, edgy, limp dicked.

Anyway. Just keep on the PE. It helps the ego.

Do you think ridalin is better? I stopped taking it for a few days and had a complete melt down emotionally.

Dr says Aderol is non addictive. yeah right.

Marijuana helps me a lot. But here in Brazil is illegal. If you live in a state where medical marijuana is legal try to get a prescription. Please don't use it if your law is against marijuana.
