Hey Still,

How are ya pal?? I ordered this for my soon to be 17 yr old son.He is a big football, wrestling, and soccer jock, who has what I would consider a normal teenage complexion, some days good, some days, not so good. When he uses it, you can tell right away! His face clears ups and looks great! But, even though he showers sometimes twice a day, trying to convince a 17 yr old male to use skin products each time is easier said then done.I also use it,just because, and it does make your face feel good and clean, and smooth.

Steve

Cool man, thanks for the feedback. Jenny's still dealing with some hormonal swings and some spots that just dont seem to want to clear up on her face. I also get some mild acne once in a while. We'll both look into it.

I had major problems lately from acne breakouts on my back and still some pimples on my face now and then. I started adding fish oil, flaxseed oil, and evening primrose oil (for gamma linoleic acid) and my back is completely cleared up now (except for the scarring which will go away in time) and I have not gotten a single zit on my face since then.

Of course, the way GLA works when it comes to acne is that it keeps testosterone from being converted into excess DHT. Not having enough DHT around in males can be bad, but unlike more powerful 5 Alpha Reductase Inhibitors, adding some GLA directly into your diet should not cause any harm, especially since many people with acne problems or hirsutism (women), have problems converting linoleic acid to gamma linoleic acid naturally. But for women, Evening Primrose Oil is actually prescribed in most countries outside of the United States for alleviating the symptoms of PMS.

Borage Oil and Black Currant Oil are high in GLA as well, so you can try that out, but I am just saying what has worked for me lately.

As for Proactiv, I have not used Proactiv but my last girlfriend used it and she said she had good results with it and I guess she had severe acne all her life. I think Proactiv and any other topical skin care application is the last line of defense against acne with the first line being having a diet rich in the vitamins, minerals, and EFA's that help keep skin healthy and acne free, and the second line of defense being to keep the skin clean and do your best not to irritate it by rubbing it. A lot of people don't realize how much worse you can make acne simply by rubbing astringent or cream on your face with too much pressure as it just irritates the skin and spreads any infection under the skin to other skin cells in the area.

Anyways, good luck with her. Acne sucks the big one if you ask me.

Hey SWM and Jen, I use Pro Activ Solution and it gets 2 thumbs up from me. I usually only use it when I break out and it gets rid of the pimple(s) in a couple of days and I love how it makes my skin look healthy and smooth and it makes the girls want to have sex with me! :) Also due to my complexion I sometimes get like a dark spot after the pimple goes away so I use one of the products called "refining mask" that clears it up. Also MCTFB's advice about taking in healthy oils sounds good as well. Let me know how it works out for you.

I know that it works for some and does nothing for others. I had cystic acne, and it did nothing for that, but I know plenty of people that say it works. Be careful drying your face, don't use a towel you don't want ruined. My gf uses the stuff and one of the bottles has bleached her towels. I ended up going the accutane route, and would reccomend it to anybody that can deal with the side effects. Of course, some people damn accutane to hell and back.

whoa, the refining mask gets rid of scars? i only use it once in a while but i still have a lot of darker spots on my chin...

anyways i highly recomend the stuff, use it 3 tiems a day for a couple days (even one sometimes ) and see what happens, we'r talking fresh, soft, healthy skin, and pimples are minimized quick
