This was the first Anonymous search engine and also happens to be pretty damn good to boot rofl They don't log IP addresses not store a cookie on the machine.

Try them out and spread the word http://ixquick.com/

Update to this. Although ixquick.com is good at what it does with searching privacy it doesn't take it one step further when clicking on links from the search. Once that is done your 'on your own' again and have left the comfort that ixquick.com provided.

Thats where Hidemyass.com web proxy comes in, found here (http://www.hidemyass.com/proxy/#). It does the same as ixquick.com but takes it a step further with scrambling and continuously anonymising your connection once clicking on your search query. Make sure you click the padlock beneath the hidemyass logo next to the search tab, that activates an SSL connection for the search to tunnel through.

Try it and see in the address bar for something for example such as monstersofcock.com it wont have the true name in the bar but a scrambled one. This is great for privacy if you live with someone or don't clean your internet history often as it makes no sense at all what has been browsed, its jargon.

See the screen shot for an example of this, note where encircled in red is all jargon and no mention of the website name! GREAT.

Comments always welcome. Use this along with a strong vpn service and a proxy combined and you are practically invisible online.

Here's another anonymous search engine (http://proxyweb.com.es/) albeit SSL not supported but it still scrambles the url names and its based in Spain which is more privacy friendly than the US or UK. The hidemyass browser has its server based in the UK, for the record.

I'm trying to find other free web proxy browsers that offer SSL as well as without but based in privacy-friendly jurisdictions such as Panama, Seychelles and eastern Europe.

I might actually create my own if the demand is big enough here, let me know because it would be based in the Seychelles which is the most private jurisdiction around. I would just need to hire some web space in the Seychelles and use the relevant code to create the web based proxy. All logs and such would be disabled.

It does not bring too many results, I did a search for penis enlargement (http://www.mattersofsize.com) and it only returned 4 pages, about 80 results. Do you need to tweak the settings or something?

Not sure, use the hidemyass (http://www.hidemyass.com/proxy/#)one by visiting Google and than search it. Your secure than. The original site I mentioned must remove the other pages for some reason.

Checkout http://www.startpage.com/ which is a project ran by ixquick.com plus if you want another anonymous web search proxy that scrambles web searches, so when they appear in the history tab everything is scrambled try this Russian based one http://anonymouse.ru/cgi-bin/nph-proxy2.cgi

Recently found this anonymous web proxy search engine based in the Czech Rep > http://www.proxyssl.info/index.php
Proxyssl offers HTTPS SSL connection at AES 256 bits which is higher than what paypal and most on-line banks use (126 bits AES).

Plenty of options to play with incl false header and browser tags you can give to the sites visited, so example you want mattersofsize.com to think you use Firefox when you really use Comodo Dragon.

Its stable and secure.

Thus far I have found 3 good secure, trusted and stable free anonymous web proxies that also offer HTTPS SSL and at AES 256 bits. The other two are as follows;

HMA Web Proxy (Hide My Ass) (http://www.hidemyass.com/proxy/#)
Xerosurf (https://xerosurf.com/)

All three as well have the option to scramble your search queries and web URL's to all that appears in the history of your internet browsers is jargon i.e. hasyhaHAyha&^7sg

I would use Startpage (http://www.startpage.com/)for your search engine as its proven and ran by ixquick.com but now since October uses SSL encryption as standard on all web queries (https://www.startpage.com/eng/about-startpage-ssl.html).

This is one of the reasons why you should never trust the main search engine fat cats. (http://news.cnet.com/AOL-apologizes-for-release-of-user-search-data/2100-1030_3-6102793.html) In 2006 AOL accidentally released the search data of over 650,000 of its users to the internet! This data is STILL live on the net for searching and to do so for the grim example of how these companies abuse us, browse to http://www.aolstalker.com/

You can laugh at some of the search queries with things like ''wife is pain'' to ''cure for tummy ache'' but more darker searches ''killing wife'' and ''incest'' are all logged publicly seen for everyone. If the search engine logged all this shit, what else was it doing and what was it prepared to do with all this crap? Google, Bing, Yahoo, Altavista plus many others although they say privacy is more important now are all no doubt storing much of the visitors data to offshore storage for later analysis or for government/law use.

Use the anonymous search engine alongside an anonymous fully trusted well reliable VPN service that also support elite proxy's or use a service that also offers that. Running all them in combo with other careful steps your secure and can be private like we should be able to.

Several more anonymous search engines.

http://duckduckgo.com/
http://www.yauba.com/ (Down at the moment while they move)
http://www.scroogle.org/
https://ssl.scroogle.org/

For those that insist on using Google, then at least use the SSL variant of it https://encrypted.google.com/

http://donttrack.us/ and http://dontbubble.us/ explain very well via graphical interface how companies like Google work and collect the data they do. Both sites are thanks to the provider of duckduckgo.com.

Just been told of this one http://yacy.net/en/index.html which is private, secure and anonymous. Its early stages right now and more suited to local intranets and searching forums rather then the web but it looks promising.
It works like a p2p network with many computers all joining up as one large unit if you like. The more peers the better the searches tend to be. Check the site for more info. I would only use it for searching forums like MOS as its really good at that role!

Best one as I have said before is https://startpage.com and that is for the secure encrypted SSL page. I strongly advise many use that, especially in the EU where governments are trying to eavesdrop on everything they can. With an SSL search engine using a trusted verified SSL certificate which Startpage.com does your searches are scrambled and your ISP cannot see what it is your searching for as its over an encrypted channel just like when you shop online.

Another advantage with Startpage is they do not log your IP ever.

Lost of popular anonymous web based search engines going via a proxy http://www.moreofit.com/similar-to/anonymouse.org/Top_10_Sites_Like_Anonymouse/
Good list of web based search engines as above http://www.publicproxyservers.com/
Lastly I'm informed the following is a very good private anonymous proxy web based search engine via Singapore http://www.unblock-my-space.info/
