hi guys. it's clear from the few of you that are posting here and many others on different forums, most people don't have a clue about peyronies. i'll try to make this relatively concise and hopefully people can learn from it.
basically, peyronies is where plaque forms underneath the skin and results in bending of the penis. this can range from very serious "L" shaped bends, to lesser degrees. one common mistake people make is to think that just because they have a bend in their penis, they have peyronies. it's the presence of plaque under the skin, not the actual bend, that indicates peyronies (although the bend typically comes with the plaque).
where does it come from? how do you "get it"? answer - nobody knows completely. the most consistent cause is trauma to the penis. this can be the result of anything like your dick falling out during sex and your partner crushing it, to pe if not done properly (the importance of reading and taking things slowly is emphasised here). most people who get peyronies are in the older age-group brackets. however there are always exceptions - i myself am 19.
so except for trauma to the penis, doctors do not know what causes peyronies disease. german stallion on this forum suggests that "inactivity" could result in peyronies, which is an interesting proposition. personally, inactivity was the least of my problems. nothing is certain in this area, but i believe a healthy combination of use, the avoidance of trauma-related stress to the penis, and praying for good genes is the best you can do to prevent peyronies.
some of the stuff guys do on this forum to make their dick bigger makes you wonder why nothing has happened to them. research into peyronies has shown numerous times that if one child has peyronies, the chance of a sibling getting it increases. thus, genetics may very well play a large part in determining whether you get it or not. i must just have bad luck :)
ok so now, how do you fix peyronies? this is just as ambiguous as everything else related to the disease. first of all, let me present something that is severly lacking in other peyronies reports i've ever read, and misguides people as to why their condition is improving/not-improving. roughly, there is a 1/3 chance the condition will improve quickly, 1/3 chance it will remain the same for quite some time, 1/3 chance it will get worse. i am in the 1/3 chance it will stay the same bracket.
i mention the above because i people some people incorrectly make correlations between what they are doing and how their condition is. for example, if i am in the 1/3 bracket of it quickly improving, it probably doesn't matter whether my method of not doing anything with my penis or rigorously working it actually does anything - because it's going to improve anyway. so keep this in mind for those of you who have the disease and are trying to fix it.
as for medical treatment, vitamin e (repairs tissue damage) has been known to help in some cases. and because it's so cheap, it's probably worth using for a few months if you get peyronies. injections are expensive and there has been no consistent finding that they help in the treatment at all. there are two main surgery options.
the first, and less severe, is where they pull the skin back on the opposite side to the curve to make the penis straight. to visualise this, create a bend in your dick. now, pull the skin on the opposite side to the end down and you will see that this results in it being straight. the major side-effect though, is that because you are pulling the skin down, it will make the size of your penis smaller length wise. this option is really only worthwhile if you have a serious bend and it needs to be fixed quickly. because it does not involve anything to do with the plaque under the skin, it will not reduce any pain in the area or eliminate/fix the damaged tissue.
the second option is very serious and is only to be done as no other options are available. it involves removing the plaque that causes peyronies by cutting it out of the shaft, and using a skin graft to cover the area. the operation is very precise and the slightest slip from the surgeon could result in a loss of sensitivity in the penis (from minor to extreme). further, because of the uncertainty about the disease and how to fix it, there is no guarantee that even if surgery goes correctly that there won't be a loss of feeling. the pain after the operation is excrutiating and it takes many months to fully recover from it.
i think that's all that i need to mention. if anyone has any questions about peyronies, please feel free to ask. i may be young and not have a medical degree but i'm very well-read on the subject.
one last thing. my problem with peyronies is not the bend (mine is quite small) but the pain associated with the condition. it means that i can't do any of the intensive pe exercises for a sustained amount of time. if i push myself and go for too long (which isn't long at all compared with others), the peyronies-affected side will swell and the pain is immense. this is what disappoints me the most because i know how to make my dick bigger, i just physically can't because of this disease. if anyone knows of more intensive exercises that might not cause so much pain (things like stretching aren't great for me either because the plaque is near the glans and the area at the moment is very red and raw), i would be very willing to hear you out.
