To be on the safe side, you should use a backup, too. I have a pill baby. Drugs like antibiotics can lower the effectiveness of the pill. If you are not too concerned about having a baby, then by all means, fire away. Kong nailed it. The pill is not a 100% failsafe, the same as the condom. But by using both, you massively increase your chances of not having kids. Think about it, if the cum escapes the condom (2-5% chance) it still has to beat the pill (2-4% chance).
