<1/4 inch of pressure absorbing neoprene.
I've had mine since 2007 and I highly recommend them for when you do heavy work and it starts to dig into your hands, makeing it harder for you to continue when you know you could do better if the grip and the hand soreness didnt start.

If you do heavy deadlifts and use hook lifting gloves from time to time with the very heavy lifts or for safety at first than it can be hard finding a tough glove and I have used a few and they all snapped quickly under the weight, except these ... the
1 ton hooks
These things feel great to wear and are very secure and strong isnt the word ... they will never snap and come with a lifetime promise from the maker.
Check them out.

Next we have something for those who squat but dont want their spine to become compressed from the heavier weights which is what will happen in time if you keep placeing the bar across your neck and even padding wont stop it.
You'll get some jerks that say these are for wimps

whatever, they are for SMART TRAINERS not fools who will end up with a crooked spine from years of heavy squats, unless you MUST do squats without these such as in competition you should have no reason not to want to take a look.
I've had mine for several years now and I will say you do not get the spinal pain with these that I did get in the past across and going right down deep into my spine, not the muscle but the bone especially at the top of the neck which is dangerous ... this eliminates all that and spreads the force across your while shoulder girdle and trapezius muscles preventing the downwared direct force on the spine.
Its called the
Mantra Ray and you can find it
here
Also they sell the
Sting ray which is for frontal squats so your collarbone isnt damaged doing them, but I dont own one or have used one, so cant comment.

Lastly for now I will also recommend the
Ivanko Super gripper which is one monster of a useful piece of equipment to make your forearms, wrist and fingers very strong.
Find it
here from the British seller.
You can go up to 100's of pounds in resistence by adding more coils in time and its very versatile and easy to use.
