    Coagulated Semen

    Hi all

I was wondering if there was anyone on here who could possibly shed some light on this.

My semen has been coagulated for possiblly the last year or two now. At first I never really thought anything of it but after some reading recently I learned it may possibly be the route of an underling problem?

I read that it can be normal for a mans semen to be coagulated, but it should liquify after around 30 minutes which mine doesn't.

When I say it's coagulated, I don't mean all of it. Most will be normal, but it will contain quite a bit of 'jelly' type coagulated semen.

I got my prostate checked earlier this year (Not related to the coagulation issue) and the doctor said everything felt fine.

From what I've read water intake and EFA (Fat) intake can also have a role in it. But I exercise regular and drink on average around 6 litres of water per day. I also have a diet high in healthly fats, since I don't respond very to carbohydrates - so that eliminates the water and EFA intake problem.

I'm also wondering if this could be caused by low testosterone levels? I should mention, that I'm only 20 years old.

My erections aren't very strong either. At most they're probably 3/4 of what they should be. It's very rare in fact now I think about it, that I'll get a full on rock hard erection.

I was looking at some symptoms of low testerone levels and most of them seemed to fit the bill - Low sex drive, fatigue, delayed recovery, fat accumulation (Although I am naturally Endomorphic too).

I am definitely going to book into my doctors to get my blood tested and will also mention the semen issue. The only problem is for some reason, most doctors here in the UK seem against giving blood tests and will try to fob you off with some other excuse, but I'm not leaving there without getting one done!

    Re: Coagulated Semen

I've always created these jelly strands. I used a cock ring (Hardwear one size too small) once, that constricted the flow of cum to make it shoot. That load didn't let any of the strings out and the orgasm, even though it shot far, didn't feel nearly as great. We're blessed to make these jelly strongs, as they seem to intensify the feeling of our orgasms.

I too deal with the lacking-full-erection issues and I also get a lot of water, so I don't know what causes this is us... but think of it as a blessing. Although, I also deal witht he fatigue, I attribute that to the possibility of MS or Anemia (which seem to run in most of my family). My personal low sex-drive is simply from depression. Are you dealing with depression at all? If so, that's probably why your drive is low.

I have had the same issue. I am 30 y/o, in shape, plenty of water, and a good diet. The issue only presents itself if I go more than a day without an orgasm. Luckily, my wife has seen the results for herself and takes it upon herself to "fix" the problem. Try to empty the boys more often and the "strings" may go away.

Guy's I've found an interesting article online regarding Vitamin C & 'agglutination' of sperm. Here it is,

Vitamin C: Enhancing Male Fertility Naturally
    by: Kristen Hart

Vitamin C has enjoyed great fame in recent history. It's useful for preventing scurvy, a dreaded disease in the past. It's also an anti-oxidant and has been known to help prevent and reduce the duration of the common cold. But can it really help enhance male fertility? Research has shown that yes, it can.

It is important to note that even if a man produces high counts of sperm, they must be able to reach the egg. Part of this journey relies on the female’s cervical fluid, which must be hospitable to the sperm. But part of it relies on the man.

Agglutination is the process by which sperm clumps together. When sperm cells are clumped together, they cannot swim properly and have a hard time making it to the egg. A man with a vitamin C deficiency is more likely to have sperm agglutination, and taking vitamin C can prevent it. This allows the healthy sperm to swim to the egg.

Deficiency in vitamin C has also been shown to contribute to low sperm count and reduced sperm motility. Like sperm agglutination, reduced motility prevents sperm from moving properly. Sperm may simply swim in circles instead of through the semen and cervical fluid to the waiting egg.

Vitamin C has also been shown to reduce the occurrence of abnormal or defective sperm. This has been proven especially true in smokers. Of course quitting smoking is the best thing for a couple trying to conceive.

Low levels of vitamin C have led to less structural strength within the male sex organs. When vitamin C levels are replenished the tubes and organs needed for optimal fertility in the man are healthier and function more efficiently.

As you can see, vitamin C is vitally important for a man to be fertile. In addition to its specific benefits towards fertility, the vitamin is essential for overall health. It is found in many fruits and vegetables. However experts have found surprisingly low levels of vitamin C in sources where it has been thought to be abundant – such as oranges. They suggest that depleted soil may lead to this.

Since it is better to take vitamin C in a whole form, rather than by isolating it, you may want to try a multi-vitamin containing vitamin C. This ensures a more balanced delivery of the vitamin, along with other vitamins and minerals essential to your fertility. Be sure to get plenty of foods rich in vitamin C as this is the best source – just use your vitamin as an assurance that you are truly getting what you need.

Ensuring that you get a generous amount of vitamin C in your diet will help improve your sperm quality and perhaps your sperm count. It will also improve the health of your reproductive organs and give you better health overall. Be sure that you are getting the amount of vitamin C you need everyday and enjoy greater fertility.

I've stocked up on some Vitamin C & also some L-Arginine - Since this is also said to help volume and is also assocciated with better isn't erections which certainly isn't a bad thing either.

I'll give it a try for a few weeks and we'll see how things go.

Nope. I'm a goody-two shoes. Never smoked, drank, done drugs or (regretably) had sex. :p

I did have an injury as a kid before puberty, crushing my PC muscle on a bike and peeing out blood for a few days.. but I think that relates more to my erection quality than my semen-consistency.
