Spotting with Jelqs is fairly normal as you start, you will get conditioned to it. It's not a hazard.
However, the biggest factor for me was actually using an ADS (SG in my case). When I got to 6 hours a day of ADS use at higher tension, that's when I saw the biggest change. Jelqing against my curve was the next biggest factor.
Both are incredible methods and one other to add would be using a pump while erect stretching for Tunica straighter. Use all three of these methods and your curves will change very quickly, within 6 to 12 months.
