Ok so Falling Off The Wagon is not something I think would apply to PE more like staying sober, but I wasn't sure how else to put it, I have to admit fellow brothers I have slacked just a bit, missed a day or two but got right back on that PE track well sorta, I promised myself I would stick with it, I was going to just let the month finish and just start over this month but instead I got back on track but I'm afraid it's going to happen again, about the only thing I really have disciplined myself so far is my body building workout which I so far have missed like maybe once in a month, now the question is how do I apply that discipline to my PE workout? It's not a question of motivation it's like what I said in my last post time management which for me lately sucks!

It can be difficult to keep at it, with exercise being boring sometimes, and lets face it more important stuff comes around.

The best way to keep yourself motivated to work out is by making a progress thread and posting in it daily so we can keep you inspired. Also looking into your future and what you want to gain will help you stay focused and motivated. I used to keep a picture of the biggest man in to compare myself to and this kept me very motivated to beat them. So whatever it takes to keep you on the board every day and this will keep you in the right frame of mind to continue training.

That sounds encouraging, I should keep a picture of Ron Jeremy circa 80's for inspiration, lol no but seriously I think right now the hardest part no pun intended is just posting a progress thread, consistency is not something I excel at lately and like many of us I tend to procastinate so that's probably my biggest challenge at the moment getting past the putting off phase and getting to the getting to it phase, anyhow I still have to do MY daily PE so I'm off and will see about posting my daily progress, thanks

Sounds funny but it really works. Are used to keep three pictures of three of the biggest men in and that would motivate and inspire me to get bigger. I guess it was like a motivational driving force that I want to beat them so badly that I was willing to do whatever it took to make it happen

I know the feeling on falling off, with work and all I have not even felt like doing a work out.

I avoid off days like a disease. Just a single off day can make you fall off completely. It is best to train daily and also masturbate less.

Stop thinking about PE in a long-term it makes very little sense. Yes set a goal for where you wanna end up but stop thinking about how long it’s gonna take. Instead what you wanna do is keep it in the day meaning take it one day at a time. If you keep it in the day you will not get overwhelmed and will help keep you inspired to keep going. But when you think of it as this huge long project I can make PE very dull and even discouraging. Sometimes keeping in the day is even hard and in those cases I keep it in the moment!

One of the major problem i used to have in the past was that, i used to look at it from a long term ago instead of focusing on each day's task.

Whenever we look back into the past and look at things we failed to accomplish it brings depression and discouragement. In a similar way when we look into the future he can cause anxiety. I think the combination of anxiety and depression can cause our PE to suffer.

Keeping everything in the moment, where all of our strength is, we can make much better choices with a much better attitude because were only considering a small portion of time. It’s kind a like watching the paint dry on the wall. Constantly checking will cause anxiety as you wait for it to manifest itself.

So like I said earlier it is best to keep everything we do in the day and if that’s too much keep it in the moment. Stop giving all your energy to the past into the future and start concentrating energy in the moment. I’m not saying you should not have a long-term goal, you should and you should also do regular measurements but don’t let those things overwhelm you and consume your focus. Stay focused on what is at hand in the moment and you will make so much more progress.

I've gone through this with PE and general physical fitness COUNTLESS times over the last 20 years.

ANY routine or calculated effort is hard for humans to perpetuate, period. Except for the 0.01%.

DLD's advice to focus on the "moment in front of you" is on point. I would take it a step further and say do anything you can in small increments, whenever possible. Why? Because your total "time under load" will be greater at the end of the week. Got time for 20 push ups - do it. Got time for 3 minutes of bundled stretches - do it. Keeping it flowing in small units of effort will actually fuel those times when you can go full tilt.

I can look at my time put in to PE in two ways:

1. Gains I could have gotten since 2014 if I was more disciplined - and therefore had long periods of inactivity. Judging myself for not being disciplined and falling "off the wagon". Drawn into inactivity and "what ifs".

2. Gains I can definitely get from PE in the next two years if I just stay engaged in a non-judgmental way, doing what I can every day, resting when needed, and going full tilt when I can.

I can get further with #2 in two years than I can with #1.

Sounds cheesy, but it's an important mental shift that can change the way you approach the day to day.

Take it from the guys that made it to the other side. I love listening to people who win and made gains because that simply meant that they did it. They know what the grind looks like they walked down that road already. any advice from any pe vet or successful person in general is free knowledge that us young guys should fully embrace and take advantage of I know a lot of us lack patience bc of how fast society has become it’s so easy to lose sight of what we want bc it didn’t come in the form of fast food you what I mean? I know exactly what it feels like to be discouraged lose sight of the bigger picture but discipline is a beautiful thing if you can learn to conquer it you can be and do anything you want ????

I hope you are seeing this awesome advice cyberken53! This is what the Brotherhood is about!

You can't do anything about past setbacks, but you can learn from them. Each day is an opportunity to start fresh, so don't let falling off the wagon get you down!
