So I'm reading articles on jelqing, and when I try it

it just just pulls my penis skin and scrotum skin forward

and I'm thinking how is this helping me if the only stretch I feel is in stretching the skin and pulling the skin forward?

I put my fingers around my dick in a ring and slowly pull forward- this pulls the foreskin forward, pushing most of the skin forward instead of affecting the spongy part of my dick.

What am I doing wrong?

It pulls my skin forward too. But I still get good expansion. Perhaps you are not gripping tight enough. Don't injure yourself though.
Sometimes you just need to be consistent and you will eventually notice some expansion. As is the way with newbies.

I'm uncut and have to jelq with a minor twist.
Everytime when I do a jelq, I hold all the skin at the base with the non-jelqing hand. If I don't do this I get the same issues as you.
The key is to hold the skin at the base and jelq blood towards the glans. Don't forget to use enough lubricant!

I don't use any lube at all. For me the skin has to be tugged along.

kneehowguys, perhaps you may want to try it with a lubrication of sorts, if you aren't already.

I prefer dry jelqing to wet, I get much better expansion and much less discoloration.

Doing it dry

my experience was that

It pulls my skin (stretches the skin), leaves the penile tissue behind

and then I lose my semierection. Any tips for this?

Really I just want to use jelg and pump in the shower. So dry seems out.

I should figure out a way to make a video.

I pull upward, and it just pulls the skin and leaves everything else behind.

Wet when I use lube, I gotta pull most of the skin all the way back and then use alot of lube so I'm not just stretching the skin. But by then I lose my semierection.

I second that

I should mention that I use the SlowSqushJelq, there is no real sliding like the jelq.
