maybe but some words can be written the same but dont mean the same....Russian is a language id like to learn!!

Yes learning one of the branches of core languages will definitely help you learn other languages much more easily and you can understand other languages without having to learn it because they have similar sounds to words.

German, hi or low, is a difficult language to master, it is best to choose one to study. One of the easiest languages to learn is Latin and Latin will help you understand many other languages. Yiddish is a very hard language to master but all Jews and Christians should learn as it brings so much more meaning to the Bible.

One language I'd love to learn is German or Icelandic :) Simply because I plan on visiting these places in the future!

what would be the average period to speak a language fluently...obviously adding time,discipline,dedication etc:)

To master one language it takes minimum of 2 years or less if practiced daily and regularly
 
2 years sounds like way too much time,but id like to start ASAP just dont know which language im supposed to choose LOL haha

1 hour a day is good, they say it takes 10,000 hours to master something. You'll be great on your way with 1 hour a day.
